When an assessment might be helpful

An autism assessment can be an important step in understanding yourself more fully and the ways you navigate the world.

Realizing autism may explain your experiences

Looking for a deeper understanding
and practical steps

1

Start with a quick call

We’ll begin with a free consultation call (video or phone) to talk about what is bringing you to an assessment, what you’re hoping to better understand, and whether my approach feels like a good fit.

2

Begin with your questions and history

During our intake, we’ll talk about your current experiences, developmental history, mental health, school or work, and the questions you’d like the assessment to help answer. Together we’ll clarify the focus of the evaluation and what information will be most helpful.

3

Explore your experiences in depth

We’ll complete an autism-focused interview that looks thoughtfully at your experiences across your life; including communication, relationships, sensory experiences, routines and interests, masking, emotion regulation, and other aspects of neurodivergence.

When helpful, we may also include additional components, such as a parent or family input, psychiatric interview or cognitive (IQ) testing.

4

Make sense of the findings together

After the assessment is complete, we’ll meet for a feedback session to talk through what I learned and how the different pieces fit together. We’ll discuss any diagnostic conclusions, areas that may remain less clear, and what the findings mean for you.

5

Clarity and next steps

You’ll receive a comprehensive written report that brings together the findings and includes recommendations and resources.

If helpful, we can also meet for follow-up support as you process the results, consider next steps, or think about how to apply what you’ve learned in everyday life.

How we’ll work together

Assessments are individualized to fit your needs and meet your goals.
We’ll work together to figure out what type of assessment may be most helpful.
