Child and Teen Autism Diagnostic Assessments

I offer autism assessments for children and teens - whether it’s a first-time assessment, a second opinion, or a teen-led process driven by curiosity or self-advocacy. My approach is collaborative and rooted in a neurodivergent-affirming, evidence-based care.

What the process looks like

1. Free consultation

We’ll start with a free phone or video call to talk through our concerns and goals, answer initial questions, and see if this feels like a good fit.

2. Parent intake session

The first session is with parents or caregivers. We’ll talk through your child or teen’s history, strengths, challenges, and what led you or your teen to seek an evaluation. This 60-minute session can be take place in-person or via telehealth.

3. Testing sessions

Parents will participate in a comprehensive parent interview focused on your child or teen’s development. This 3-hour appointment can be completed either in-person or via telehealth.

Your child or teen will complete a few structured activities and clinical interviews tailored to the goals of the assessment. Every evaluation includes a 2.5 to 3-hour in-person testing appointment. Depending in your child’s age and needs, a second session (30-60 minutes) may be scheduled and can be completed either in-person or via telehealth. The specific testing activities and structure will be tailored to your child or teen’s age, needs, and developmental profile.

4. Feedback and written report

We’ll meet for a 60-minute feedback session (in-person or via telehealth) to go over the results, talk through recommendations, and discuss next steps. A written report will be provided a few weeks after the feedback session.

5. Follow-up support

After the assessment, I’m available for ongoing support. These sessions can focus on applying recommendations at home or school, navigating services, providing bridge services until other services become available, or offering space to you or your child or teen to process the results.

6. Fees

Assessments start at $4,500. The final cost will depend on the specific needs and goals of your assessment. I provide superbills that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
